2017 SEASON SCHEDULE
War Angels Womenís Football Team end San Diegoís 7 year Unbeaten Home Win Streak
The Central Cal War Angelís Womenís Football team rolled into San Diego and snap the San Diego Surgeís 7 year home winning streak with a stunning 44-7 upset.  This impressive win and current undefeated season catapulted the War Angels to the #1 ranked team in the Western Conference of the Womenís Football Alliance, a 64-team national league.

They now control their own destiny and can likely secure homefield advantage in the National Playoffs if they continue to dominate the Pacific West region. With 40 seconds left in the 1st half, the War Angels were losing to the Surge 7-6. The Surge runningback, Jazzmon Stovall broke free and was tackled inches from the goal line.  The next 3 plays showed the heart of the War Angel defense. They managed to not only stop the Surge from getting that inch, they continued to get into the backfield causing a loss of yards for the Surge. On 3rd and goal, the Surge were flagged for a hold and were forced to back up to the 10-yard line. With 20 seconds left, Surge QB Melissa Gallegos, was intercepted by War Angel CB, Kelli Smith. Smith returned the interception for a 100 yard touchdown giving the War Angels a 14-7 lead at half.

The War Angels took the momentum and ran, scoring 30 unanswered points on San Diego in the 2nd half.  Runningbacks Alexis Snyder, Destanie Yarbrough and Kelli Smith all found the endzone.  Smith ended the game with two "pick 6" interceptions and one rushing touchdown.
